PLANTING THE SEEDS OF KNOWLEDGE.It is a proven fact, children learn better when they are exposed to a learning environment that engages them. Three Cedars Farm provides a great opportunity for students to take what they learn in the classroom and see how it applies to every day life. Are you growing seeds in class? Why not show the kids what those seeds become? In today's energy driven economy, corn is being processed into biofuels. This is a great opportunity to show students where corn comes from, corn's importance to the food supply, and its limitations as a biofuel. Do you have a biology class that kids seeing live goats could relate to? There are many ways that math could be used when discussing corn.
Below are several study guides that may help you stimulate discussions in your class room before coming to the Farm. Information was gathered with help from Utah's "Ag-in-the-Classroom" program.
